This trip was such a fantastic experience. I’d never been to Europe before. We were able to visit several spots I always wanted to see, but never would have made an effort to do so if it weren’t for K’s enthusiasm. And we did it exactly the way I wanted to do it; Long stretches of time in the hearts of thriving cities with tons of history.
Makes you realize that this wacky world is a very big place with many options for how you’d like to live your life. K and I will definitely keep this in-mind as we travel through this life together.
An ice storm is a brewing so we had to get out of Ottawa a day early. Was sad to have to leave early but the storm was pretty bad and we would have had a tough time getting down to Montreal with icy roads. Even walking a single step on an icy surface is dangerous (let alone 60 miles or so). It was the right call and K was very brave to make a path out to the car to start it up and bring it back in front of the hotel.
Reminds me of War of The Worlds. I got a front row seat to the spectacle!
That’s it folks. We made it back home, and not much has changed other than: the ICE killings of US citizens clear on tape, our president going to war, more fishing boats being destroyed by our military, threats of war against four other countries, the potential dissolution of NATO and WW3, mass resignations in the Dept of Justice and crumbling of the DOJ, expiration of the ACA extended benefits, the gutting of medicaid (right as our parents need it most), the coverup of the ICE killings (in the concentration camps as well), the attempted federal barring of regulations on AI, rollback on environmental protections, Republican congress basically a no-show, the corrupt president potentially pocketing billions of dollars in Qatar Banks from stolen oil, the never ending Republican pedophile protection ring, the tariff wars, the Minneapolis federal invasion, the pardons of thousands of criminals, etc (etc being a broad term), and roughly 90% of Republicans approving of his performance.
But we’ve changed too… It’s a big world out there.
