What an enjoyable experience at the Fresno Zoo. The first time I saw the newly-improved Fresno Zoo (I saw it for the first time about 40 years ago) I was a bit shocked by how fantastic the exhibits were. It seems like a cornerstone of the community and can easily compete with zoos in cities 10 times the size. It seems like it means a lot to many people in Fresno.
No lines today! And the prices are pretty good too. Plenty of people inside, but not too crowded.

They did a fantastic job here, I’ve never seen anything quite like this anywhere. You can tell that the local community really intended to makes something special here. Everyone loved it. What great artwork.
The day itself was pretty murky, so I had a lot of fun super-colorizing everything so that the drab sky turned into a perfect Californian day.
Onto The Elephants
We almost ran out of time anyways, so the Roo Walkabout wouldn’t have happened even if it were open.
Sea Lion Resort
This sea lion performed this trick 4 times maybe without even opening its eyes.
I was on a walk that evening in Clovis and snagged this shot. I didn’t make any modifications to this image. It really looked like that! Tornado clouds if you ask me… There actually was a tornado warning that evening (quite unusual for Clovis).
