We just grabbed our bags, got the car and truck from storage and made for Clovis to spend New Year’s with Dan’s family. Was a great reunion and lots of fun ringing in 2026 with the fam. Traditions include lots of rummy, late-night karaoke and seeing the different celebrations across the world. Was fun to see the London Eye and think that we’d been on it just a couple of weeks before. A nice ending when Dan’s backpack that never arrived from Montreal got delivered at 2 a.m. Felt bad for the poor guy driving around on New Year’s Eve in the middle of the night dropping off lost luggage.
It’s been a spectacular four months of travel. We had so many adventures, met great people, saw incredible art, learned so much about different cultures and histories. And now, it’s not so bad to be home in Santa Cruz, too (says Dan, Kay’s always up for more travel ;).
