Barcelona History Museum (MUHBA)
This bust actually has a strange history to it. Back in the defensive wall building period of Barcelona’s history the people here would sometimes take statues, gravestones, etc to fill in their walls. It was common practice to see a gravestone inlaid into a wall. This bust (probably of a Roman women around 200 AD) was discovered in some of the walls. The twist is that the head was found in one wall and the body was found in another wall! If this statue could talk I bet it’d have a lot to say 🙂
