Yesterday the plane trip from Barcelona to Venice went smoothly. We got into the airport at night, figured out how to get from the airport boat to where we’re staying in Venice, met the AirBnB host at the expected location, and got into the apartment easy-peezy. Then went to bed (zzz).
Day 2 was the start of the adventure. After all the trips we’ve been on to new locations we’re pretty good about: figuring out where/how to buy groceries (currency/language), figuring out where to dump the trash, and figuring out how to wash/dry our clothes. These are the essentials. Once these are figured out we start walking around the area and seeing where are the: pharmacies, restaurants, sites, etc. It’s usually pretty fun just snapping some pictures and walking around while keeping an eye out for all the stores we’ll need for the month. Here are our first pics of Venice 🙂

Shinny Things
Venice has fantastic jewelry. The Island of Murano is known for fantastic works of glass art. Most things are pretty affordable as well. K and I are pretty frugal (cheap) so we pass on pretty much everything. But, if you’re looking for good deals on great looking jewelry this is the place to be.

At Night
Venice becomes a different world at night. All of the day travelers are gone, and you’re just there with the locals. I can’t say the locals love tourists, but it seems like they’re used to them and accommodating as long as you stay out of their way.
