The gardens just outside of the Louvre were a lot of fun and stretched to the Place de la Concorde. Here are some photos.

Grand Bassin Rond

It’s a balloon!

Now we’re starting to get into the gardens. You can’t see it in the image, but there’s a pond over there.

Another beautiful carousel.

So I got a really bad vibe about this open area. All the areas around it were covered with art and life. This open area just had a bad vibe about it, with a spooky statue. Turns out that during the Reign of Terror thousands of people were guillotined here, and just over the hill (Concorde)!

This is the public square where the Reign of Terror executed thousands of people during the French Revolution.

Another fantastic lamp post.

The gate leading back to the gardens.

I guess this is what it looked like just after WW2.

In the square they had some sort of event for horse racing. Everyone was really nice and inviting. There were kids everywhere. Oh, how time change when compared with what was happening here during the French Revolution of 1792.

Next up we’ll mosey down the Seine River to the Eiffel Tower. This is a long day!!! We had so much fun that we didn’t even notice that we had been walking already for about 6 hours!

People actually drive cars like this on the road. This one looks rather old.

Loosing our light…

Hôtel des Invalides . Kimberley thought this was some sort of military thing. Museum, hospital etc.

Welcome to the Grand Palais & Petit Palais

A couple getting married! K snuck in and grabbed a picture as well. They didn’t seem to like that for some reason.

The Grand Palace has a glass roof. Can’t wait to check that out.

Yeah this art is just on the street here! Amazing place!

Another amazing statue just on a bridge over the Seine

More art on the bridge.

We had dinner at the cafe to the right in this image.

Dinner over, time to go to the Eiffel Tower!

Getting closer.

Next up, The Eiffel Tower at night!
