The gypsies in Barcelona had it tough. Basically they got blamed for everything that ever happened. Yet they continued on. Modern DNA has been able to trace the Barcelona Gypsies (otherwise know is Roma I think) to India. In fact they trace back to a specific part of India at a specific time. The ruler of that part of India wanted to go to war for some reason, and wanted the ancestors to the Roma to fight for him. Instead they left and spread across Europe.
