It so happened that today was a holiday or special day in France. The street to the palace was even closed off by BIG military looking vehicles! I think they were police vehicles but the police here have military equipment. It’s common to be at a monument and see a squad of officers (or maybe military, not sure) walking in formation around fully armed! Even I won’t take a picture of that (hence no pictures of the officers walking around the gardens of Versailles). I like how we don’t do that in the USA, but there wasn’t a graffiti tag, or destruction of any sort at the monuments themselves. So a real toss-up as to how I feel about that.
The Hall of Mirrors. WOW! Hard to believe that people were starving and living in squalor as the nobility lived like this. Then again I’m glad that these monuments weren’t destroyed in the revolutions.

And finally here’s a street performer from The Louvre that I forgot to post on that day.
