This museum was a lot of fun. It was interactive and had many ways to accidentally remove fingers (a true sign of interactivity). Check out K’s video below for example 🙂 Overall they did a great job, and it’s nice to see organization and individuals make such an effort to bring together such talented people (historians, painters, artists, craftsman, engineers, etc) in order to provide to the community the experience that was the life of Leonardo Da Vinci

The Vitruvian K

The story in the museum was that Leonardo stopped drawing anatomy when a student of his pronounced him to be a necromancer. That guy really knew when to fold-em and move onto something else. Probably why he was able to do so much given how oppressive medieval life was against people with a brain.

K was winding that catapult like there was no tomorrow. I warned her to be careful with that thing 🙂 After I looked it over and tried it out a couple of times I snagged this video before she wound it to about 10%.

This may actually not be a Da Vinci thing. Check the history…

My understanding of the whole bike thing is that a notebook of Leonardo’s had two pages that were glued together. Of course someone unglued them. Lo and behold the glued page was a drawing of a bicycle! The people who know LDV stuff said that the drawing most assuredly wasn’t from him. But the people at the museum went ahead and built it anyways. Makes you wonder what the story behind that drawing was. It sounded like it was actually made to look like a Da Vinci drawing. Another story lost to the ages…
