Dan is sick, so it’s a Kay solo journey day, though I wasn’t traveling too far. To kick things off, after a month hiatus, I got back swimming which felt fantastic! There was a local pool in Paris, about a half hour away, we were a 20 minute walk to the Mediterranean Sea in Barcelona, but there was nowhere to swim in Venice within easy access, so it’s been a solid month since I’ve been in the water. A fantastic boon to our location here in Paddington (besides being close to 3 tube lines, Hyde Park, Christmas markets, museums) is we’re literally 5 minutes from a gorgeous pool, Porchester Hall! There’s even a historic Turkish Bath spa, which I’ll talk more about another day, as it’s on my list of things to experience here.

I walked around the area for a bit, and enjoyed all the holiday decorations. One of the reasons Dan suggested London was to enjoy the Christmas vibe. Hyde Park is a fantastic walking area, and it’s fun to see kids and dogs playing with abandon. It’s huge and has so many different areas, including Kensington Palace (a palace, where some real royals still live!), Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, a huge lake, a pond with swans, geese and ducks, a museum, and gorgeous walking paths.
